There are a number of agencies in Birmingham. Why do you work at Modern Brand?

I believe in the work that Modern Brand does. Most of our partners are local small businesses and nonprofit organizations who, until Modern Brand came along, were incredibly underrepresented in Birmingham.

What’s your spirit animal?

My spirit animal is the Amur leopard. I’m basically an endangered species. Joking aside, they are one of the rarest and most elusive animals on the planet and highly evolved to survive in a particularly harsh environment. I like moving to a new place every few years, and being able to adapt to new surroundings is useful toward that end.

What’s your favorite drink and why?

My favorite beverage is a sparkling negroni. It’s bitter and bubbly, just like me.

What’s your favorite part of working at Modern Brand?

My favorite part about working at the Modern Brand is the creative outlet it provides. Whether its brainstorming a strategy for a new client or coming up with copy for a radio ad, there’s always something that needs to be created.

What’s been your favorite project here and why?

My favorite project to date was the Advancing Health Equity project we did for Health Action Partnership. It was an intense project that had many creative challenges, but in the end, we had a beautiful short film that effectively communicated the health disparities that exist in Jefferson County.
